Kris went above and beyond to make perfect her performance. The concert would not have had the same energy without her. She arrived very early to set up and stayed late to rehearse extra parts. Great attitude. In high stress situations, a positive outlook is priceless. The professionalism and positivity won me over. The biggest highlight was Kris staying hours past scheduled rehearsal to learn parts that were scored incorrectly…she did so much more than required to make the performance flawless. - Megan Hunter, Steven Canyon USA Tour, Music Manager www.stevencanyon.com
"Kris Manning has been playing at Holy City Brewing since we opened. Since then she has become a monthly staple at the brewery and we love having her up. She has played with a few bands here and has always brought an amazing level of enthusiasm, professionalism, and skill. Kris has made it a point to play to the crowd and the venue, taking into account that we are unique space that requires a certain level of volume with regards to percussion." Chris Brown, Brewmaster and Owner, Holy City Brewing Company www.holycitybrewing.com
"I've worked with Kris on several occasions and I would do so again. She is positive, easy going, enthusiastic, musically knowledgable, professional, dependable -- AND she keeps good time!" Becca Bessinger, Musician with The Letter Show and Satellite Rodeo. www.reverbnation.com/beccabessinger
I met Kris when I needed a fill in percussionist for the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra. It was musical love at first listen. Her percussion skills will speak for itself; versatile, diverse, dynamic and musical. She immediately became my #1 referral for any gigs I couldn’t take or needed a sub. Whenever I needed an additional percussionist for any genre of music, she was 1st on my speed dial. Every conductor, music director and musician that Kris played with would always tell me afterwards how much of a pleasure she was to make music with. THAT is a testament unto itself. Though she is known as “That Girl Drummer” from anyone who doesn’t know Kris and sees her perform, she is much more… She’s a musician!
"I've known Kris for many years and she is one of the most professional and gifted musicians I've ever met. She has an extensive skill set, a great musical and artistic imagination and is a consummate professional. If you need drums or percussion work done, you can't go wrong with Kris." David Puzzo, Freelance Percussionist
"Kris Manning is one of those gems in the local music scene of Charleston, SC, proving to be dependable and talented drummer with a wide diversity in musical genres. Kris brings a laid back attitude with a spot-on drum beat, as a singer/songwriter I can lay back and let Kris clear the path. Whether a Cajon, Jazz Kit or Full Kit, Kris is a terrific musician to play with." Chris Boone, Musician www.chrisboonemusic.com
"The group [The Rustic Remedy] recently came into Charleston Sound ... of special note is Kris's drum work on her "cajon kit" (you'd never guess all that sound came from a small wooden box she sits on)!"- Charleston Sound, Charleston Sound web site "The Rustic Remedy Has the Cure" (Mar 12, 2012)
